So it is October now, and the last time I posted here was in March, but there was a lot I had to do between then and now.

A lot of preparation, practicing, networking, and performing!

But now, it is all coming together. So what are the new projects, you ask?

Firstly there's Velvet Starship, which is going to blow your mind. We've just started rehearsing and we're already sounding fantastic - by the time we hit Berlin (or beyond) with a show, it is going to be dynamite. Drums, keys, guitars, vocals, and myself on cello. Not your typical band exactly, but we're not out to be typical.

Check out some recordings of rehearsals on the website and keep checking back here or there for when our shows will be posted!

Coming up sooner though is a performance with Mark Fernyhough at Huxleys, where we're going to open for Suede. We'll be a trio with Mark on vocals, Lukas Creswell-Rost on guitar, and myself of course on cello. That performance is on Monday, November 18th and you can buy tickets in advance at Eventim here.

If the tickets are too steep for you, or if you've got work on Tuesday, or perhaps if you can't wait to hear us live, we've got a preview gig coming up at Soupanova on October 23rd with just the three of us. It will be rad!

On October 24th I'll be playing with Enda Gallery again as well, and this will feature a bit of a new instrumental arrangement as we bring in Dave Mooney on electronics as well as perform a few brand-new songs Enda wrote in the last few months. Location is TBA - I will update my Upcoming Events calendar as soon as I know the exact location.

And if that wasn't enough, there is more. Those three band projects are super and will be testing my improvisation skills and rocking out skills, but I am still a classical cellist at heart. In November, exact date and location TBA, I'll have a debut concert with the lovely Joy Stuhr on piano. We're building up a program now... more on that soon, since we still have to decide between a few pieces to come up with the perfect selection of beautiful music. Stay tuned for what we'll do next...

There are a few other projects getting themselves on their feet, but until they're a bit more fixed I'll wait and let you know about them later. Best not to let all the cats out of the bag all at once, right?

No divas, no psychos and the players all rock... all we need down there is a jacuzzi and a kebab-dispenser...
